The Diablo is Pau Hana’s whitewater-specific paddle board, built for paddlers who run rivers, punch through waves, and don’t shy away from impact. Designed with pronounced rocker and added volume in the nose, it keeps the bow riding high through rapids, boils, and turbulent water - helping you stay fast, controlled, and upright.
Built with Ricochet® Technology, the Diablo is made to handle rocks, shallow lines, and hard hits that come with river paddling. It’s stable, predictable, and tough enough for repeated runs, making it a go-to board for whitewater paddlers who need gear they can trust when conditions get real.

At Pau Hana Surf Supply, quality and sustainability is integral to our mission. We design our paddleboards for durability, ensuring they withstand the test of time and reduce environmental impact.
After your session, give the board a quick rinse with fresh water and let it dry before storing - especially if you’ve been in saltwater.
Store your board in a cool, shaded place, out of direct sunlight. If possible, keep it flat or on its side using proper board racks.
A little care goes a long way - treat it well and your board will stay solid, smooth, and ready for the next paddle.
Made with Ricochet™ Impact Resistance Technology - a tough, resilient build designed to handle real-world use. From dock bumps and rocky launches to the everyday wear that comes with fishing and exploring, the board is built to take hits without losing its shape or performance.
This construction is ideal for whitewater, where hits are unavoidable and reliability matters most.
It’s a construction you don’t have to baby. Just load up, push off, and focus on the water ahead.
Performance Metrics
The Diablo feels planted and controlled in moving water. It’s designed to stay on top of waves, recover quickly, and give paddlers confidence when lines get technical.
Stable and easy to stand on, but not built for efficiency. The Diablo’s wider deck and shorter length create more drag on flatwater, making it better suited for short transitions rather than long-distance paddling.
This is where the Diablo shines. Rocker and nose volume keep the board lifting over waves, while the stable platform helps maintain control through rapids and current.
Not designed for coastal paddling.
Highly maneuverable and responsive. Designed to pivot, adjust lines quickly, and react to dynamic water.
BUILT FOR WHITEWATER
Designed specifically for rapids, waves, and river features - not adapted from flatwater shapes.
TAKES A HIT
Ricochet® construction handles rocks, shallow runs, and hard impacts with confidence.
STAYS ON TOP
Rocker and added nose volume help keep the bow clear in turbulent water.
CONFIDENT CONTROL
Stable stance and predictable handling when conditions get chaotic.
Ricochet™ Technology:
Ricochet™ is an advanced impact-resistant technology built into the board’s construction to help protect it from rocks, paddles, and hard impacts. The result is a sleek board that’s still tough enough to take a beating - perfect for anglers who don’t always launch from a sandy beach.
The Diablo was designed for paddlers who run rivers hard. The rocker profile and added nose volume help the board stay fast and clear in rapids, while Ricochet® construction gives it the toughness needed for whitewater reality.
It’s meant to be scraped, bumped, and paddled with confidence - because that’s what river boards are for.
“Whitewater boards need to stay on top and take hits. The Diablo is built to lift over waves, handle impact, and keep paddlers confident when the river gets serious.”

The Diablo is built specifically for whitewater paddleboarding - river runs, rapids, eddies, and dynamic moving water. It’s designed to stay maneuverable, predictable, and forgiving in conditions where standard SUPs don’t belong.
The Diablo is best for intermediate to advanced paddlers with river experience or formal instruction. Confident paddlers transitioning from flatwater to whitewater will benefit most when paired with proper safety gear and training.
A whitewater SUP like the Diablo is:
It’s designed for control and forgiveness, not glide or speed.
The Diablo excels on Class I–III whitewater, river runs with rapids, eddies, and technical features. It’s ideal for playful river days, not long flatwater paddles.
Very stable for its purpose. The Diablo’s width, rocker profile, and volume are designed to stay predictable and recoverable when water is pushing from every direction.
The best fin choice for the Diablo is short, flexible fins designed to reduce hang-ups and damage in shallow, rocky water while still offering control and stability.
When used correctly, yes. The Diablo is designed with whitewater-specific safety in mind, but whitewater paddling always requires proper training, a PFD, quick release leash, helmet, and river awareness.
The Diablo offers:
It’s a different experience than sitting down - more dynamic and engaging for paddlers who enjoy active river movement.
