Serious SUP Anglers
If you fish standing up, move around your deck, or fight fish from your feet, stability isn’t optional - it’s everything. At 36" wide with a high-volume build, the Big EZ Angler creates a casting platform that stays calm even when conditions don’t. Gear stays organized, weight stays centered, and you stay upright while reeling in your catch.
Larger Paddlers Who Want Confidence
This board was designed with real bodies in mind. With 260 liters of volume and a 366 lb capacity, the Big EZ Angler comfortably supports bigger paddlers without feeling corky or sluggish. It’s often called a “big guy board” - not as a gimmick, but because it genuinely delivers the float, balance, and control that larger paddlers struggle to find elsewhere.
Families & Multi-Use Adventurers
Fishing one day. Cruising with the kids or dog or both the next. Maybe even a surf session when the swell lines up. The Big EZ Angler handles all of it. Its forgiving stability makes it an easy board to share, while its rugged Ricochet™ construction stands up to the kind of use family adventures tend to involve.
Performance
From glassy lakes to windy chop, here’s what the Big EZ Angler feels like when the water changes.
SeaMount® System: Built to Adapt With You
Fishing setups are personal - and the Big EZ Angler respects that.
The integrated SeaMount® System gives you flush-mounted, threaded anchor points so you can attach rod holders, bungees, cup holders, coolers, D-rings, and much more. No drilling. No clunky add-ons. Just clean, modular rigging that keeps your deck functional and uncluttered.
Set it up for fishing, strip it down for casual paddling, then rebuild it again for the next mission.
Why the Big EZ Angler Feels So Stable
This board doesn’t just look wide - it’s designed to stay planted.
Whether you’re shifting weight, reeling in a catch, or reaching for gear, the board stays steady underneath you.
More Than a Fishing Board
The Big EZ Angler might be purpose-built for fishing, but it doesn’t stop there.
It’s not a race board. It’s not a pure touring board.
It’s a do-everything platform built around stability and real-world use.
Ricochet™ Technology:
Fishing SUPs live hard lives - rocky launches, dropped gear, shallow impacts. That’s why the Big EZ Angler is built with Pau Hana’s premium Ricochet® Technology.
This advanced construction integrates an impact-resistant membrane into our high-end fiberglass build, reinforcing high-wear zones without adding unnecessary weight or killing any performance.
What that means for you:
The Big EZ Angler is a testament to Pau Hana's dedication to crafting specialized paddle boards that elevate the fishing experience. Designed with the angler in mind, this board combines stability, ample capacity, and thoughtful features to meet the unique demands of paddleboard fishing.
"Our goal with the Big EZ Angler was to create a paddle board that offers a stable and versatile platform for anglers," says the design team at Pau Hana. "Whether you're navigating calm lakes or coastal waters, this board is equipped to handle your fishing adventures."

During a recent fishing trip to the Texas Gulf Coast, I had the opportunity to use Pau Hana's 11'0" Big EZ Angler paddleboard. Designed specifically for anglers, this board's 36-inch width provided exceptional stability, allowing me to confidently cast my line without any wobbling. The ample deck space accommodated all my gear, and the multiple SeaMount™ threaded anchor points made it easy to attach rod holders and other accessories. Paddling through shallow waters was effortless, thanks to the board's buoyant design. Overall, the Big EZ Angler enhanced my fishing experience by combining functionality with comfort.

Proper care and maintenance are essential to prolonging the life and performance of your Pau Hana paddleboard. After each use, rinse your board with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and debris. Store it in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight to prevent UV damage and delamination. Regularly inspect the vent plug to ensure it's functioning correctly, as it helps regulate internal pressure and prevent delamination. For inflatable boards, avoid overinflation and ensure they're completely dry before deflating and storing to prevent mold growth. By following these guidelines, you can ensure your paddleboard remains in optimal condition for years to come. READ MORE ➜
Stability is the whole point of the Big EZ Angler - and it shows the moment you step on it. At 36 inches wide, the board offers a seriously solid platform that stays stable when you’re casting, shifting your stance, or leaning into a catch. The planing hull handles side-to-side movement well, so the board feels predictable instead of twitchy, even when you’re active on deck.
With 260 liters of volume and a 366 lb weight capacity, the Angler has no problem carrying a paddler plus a full fishing setup and extra gear without feeling bogged down. Add in the SeaMount® system, and you can dial in your gear placement to keep weight balanced, gear secure and everything within reach. The end result is a board that lets you focus on fishing - not on staying upright.
Absolutely. The Big EZ Angler is one of the best options out there for larger paddlers or anyone who wants maximum comfort, and have confidence on the water. It’s often what people are really looking for when they ask about a “big guy” board - generous amounts of volume, real float, and stability that doesn’t disappear the moment you move around.
Unlike standard sized boards that can feel undersized or sit too low for bigger paddlers, the Angler stays buoyant and predictable. Whether you’re cruising, surfing, paddling with a kid or a dog, have extra gear or just want a relaxed day on the water, it delivers a comfortable experience without compromises.
The Angler is built to handle a wide range of environments, especially where stability matters most.
Lakes & Calm Water
This is where the board feels effortless. The wide platform creates a steady base that’s ideal for fishing, yoga, families, pets or relaxed cruising. You’ll spend less energy balancing and more time enjoying the session.
Coastal Water & Chop
When the wind picks up or the water gets bumpy, the Angler stays composed. Its width, volume, and buoyancy help it ride through chop with confidence. Paddling directly into strong wind does take a bit more effort (that’s the tradeoff for stability), but the board remains steady when conditions get unpredictable.
Shallow Flats & Mangroves
Swap the standard 9” fin for a 4” flex fin and the Angler slips into shallow water with ease. This setup is ideal for fishing in the flats, mangrove tunnels, and shallow areas where you want access without constantly worrying about bottoming out.
Tracking & Maneuverability
The stock single-fin setup balances straight-line tracking with enough maneuverability for fishing environments. Shorter fins increase agility in tight spaces; longer fins improve tracking on open water. The Angler is designed to adapt to how and where you paddle.
Definitely. While it’s purpose-built for fishing, the Big EZ Angler is far from a one-trick SUP.
Recreational Paddling
Its wide, stable platform makes it an easy, confidence-building choice for casual paddling on lakes, rivers, and calm coastal water - especially for beginners or larger paddlers.
Surfing
Surprisingly capable in the surf. The wide tail and generous volume provide steady takeoffs on waves, and optional side-bite fins allow you to set it up as a thruster. It’s a great option for bigger paddlers or anyone easing into SUP surfing.
Touring
At 11’0” with plenty of volume, the Angler works well for short touring and day trips, especially when you want to bring lots of gear along. For long-distance touring, there are more efficiency-focused boards in the Pau Hana lineup, but for casual exploration, it gets the job done.
Yoga & All-Around Use
The ultra-stable platform and soft EVA deck pad make it a solid choice for SUP yoga. It’s also well-suited for paddling with a kid, a dog, or just enjoying a mellow session on the water.
The Big EZ Angler uses Pau Hana’s premium Ricochet® Technology, placing it among the most durable boards we make. Ricochet® is an impact-resistant layer integrated into our high-end epoxy construction, it’s designed to protect against rocks, paddles, gear, and the kind of abuse fishing boards naturally see.
Compared to other Pau Hana constructions:
The Angler’s build is often described as “bombproof,” which matters when you’re launching off rocky shorelines, fishing shallow water, or loading the board with heaps of gear. It’s also designed to hold its performance over time, so it keeps feeling solid season after season.
Pau Hana’s construction quality is independently verified through REI’s Product Impact Standards, where our boards score in the top 10-15% of outdoor brands.
If stability, durability, and versatility matter to you, then yes - absolutely. The Big EZ Angler isn’t just a board you use occasionally; it’s the one you rely on.
It delivers confidence you feel immediately, especially when fishing. The SeaMount® system allows endless gear setups without jury-rigging, and the board easily transitions from fully rigged fishing mode to stripped-down recreational paddling or surfing.
It’s also worth noting who builds it. Pau Hana isn’t a corporate brand chasing trends - we’re paddlers, anglers, guides, and water people who built boards we actually wanted to use. When you reach out, you’re talking to people who fish from these boards, not a call center reading a script.
That combination of real-world design, premium materials and construction, and proven performance is what makes the Angler a long-term investment rather than a disposable purchase.
Yes. Financing is available directly through our website at checkout, with options starting around $144/month, allowing you to get on the water without paying everything upfront.
If you prefer to buy locally, many Pau Hana dealers offer their own financing programs. Availability varies by retailer, so we recommend checking with your nearest dealer for details.
