-
After your session, give the board a quick rinse with fresh water and let it dry before storing - especially if you’ve been in saltwater.
Store your board in a cool, shaded place, out of direct sunlight. If possible, keep it flat or on its side using proper board racks.
A little care goes a long way - treat it well and your board will stay solid, smooth, and ready for the next paddle.
-
Built around a lightweight EPS core and sealed with epoxy resin, this construction keeps the board strong without adding unnecessary weight. Strategic bamboo reinforcement is added in high-load areas to increase stiffness and durability where it matters most, while our high-density Corebrace™ system supports all installed components for long-term reliability.
A self-regulating Goretex vent plug helps manage internal pressure as temperatures and conditions change, keeping the board performing consistently whether you’re paddling cool mornings or warm afternoons.
Performance Metrics
The Oahu feels calm and familiar the moment you step on. It’s the kind of board that disappears beneath you, letting you focus on where you’re going instead of how you’re standing.
Smooth, relaxed, and efficient. The Oahu cruises easily on flat water and feels stable enough for beginners while still being enjoyable and responsive for experienced paddlers.
Its balanced shape handles gentle current and mild flowing water with confidence, making it a great option for mellow river paddles and exploring chill waterways.
Stays composed when light texture or wind shows up. It’s not a surf-specific board, but it handles coastal paddling comfortably and predictably.
The fin setup offers a nice balance - tracks straight without feeling locked in, and turns easily when you need to adjust course.

The Designer
Designed by Todd Caranto - the first SUP designer to win Outside Magazine's Gear of the Year award (2012), the first time the award was ever given to a stand up paddleboard.
Outside Magazine Gear of the Year · 2012 - the award that put paddleboarding on the map.
Comfortable All Day
The full EVA traction pad grips from heel to toe without fatiguing your feet. The rigid EPX hull stays predictable in chop and doesn't bounce under shifting weight - whether that's a yoga flow, a dog finding its spot, or a kid learning to balance. A board that makes long sessions feel easy, not earned.
Easy to Learn, Hard to Outgrow
At 32 inches wide with a forgiving planing hull, the Oahu gives first-timers the stability to stand up and stay up. But this isn't a board you'll replace in a year - the 5-fin box, foil compatibility, and classic noserider shape mean your skills grow and the board keeps up. SUP Connect's 2025 Gear of the Year for a reason.
Built for Years, Not Just Weekends
EPX epoxy with bamboo reinforcement and Ricochet impact technology - lightweight at 28 lbs but engineered to absorb the realities of regular use. Pau Hana ranks in the top 10% of outdoor brands under REI's Product Impact Standards. The most sustainable board is the one you don't have to replace.
One Board, Every Mode
Flatwater cruising on a single center fin. Quad fins for responsive surf sessions. A 32-inch rigid platform for SUP yoga that doesn't flex like an inflatable. Foil-compatible when you're ready to fly. The Pau Hana Oahu's 5-fin box system means one board adapts to four disciplines - no quiver required.
Built using Pau Hana’s Bamboo Sandwich construction, the Oahu blends natural strength with everyday durability. A real bamboo veneer is layered into the board’s structure, adding stiffness, impact resistance, and a smooth, responsive feel on the water.
This construction helps the board hold its shape under pressure while keeping the ride lively and predictable. It’s tough enough for regular launches, beach landings, and day-to-day paddling, without feeling overbuilt or heavy. It’s made to be used - not babied - so you can focus on the water, not the board.
- Strong, resilient construction that handles everyday bumps and knocks
- Long-term durability for regular use in lakes, rivers, and coastal water
- Consistent performance that holds its feel season after season
During a trip to Hawaii's North Shore, I had the opportunity to use Pau Hana's 10'0" Oahu Paddle Board for both paddling and foiling at Turtle Bay. The board's versatility truly impressed me. On calm waters, its stability and smooth glide made for a relaxing paddle among the sea turtles. When I transitioned to foiling, the integrated mount made setup easy. We used the Bimini with the outboard motor to generate speed, allowing me to get accustomed to being airborne with the foil. The experience boosted my confidence to try foiling on smaller waves in the area.

The Oahu reflects Pau Hana's belief that paddleboards should be approachable, reliable, and built with care. Designed in California by Todd Caranto - the first SUP designer to win Outside Magazine's Gear of the Year - it's made to support years of sessions, not just a single season.
In 2025, the Oahu earned SUP Connect's Gear of the Year, chosen through expert evaluation, retail insights, and thousands of public votes. It's the kind of board you can lend to a friend, paddle after work, or load up for a weekend adventure without worrying about babying it.
"When I started designing the Oahu, my goal was simple: create a board that's stable and fun to ride in any condition. Whether it's launching on Tenaya Lake in Yosemite at sunrise, catching waves in Waikiki, or paddling in Belize, this board thrives." - Todd Caranto, Pau Hana Founder
Pau Hana paddleboards have been designed in California since 2006 by Filipino-American founder Todd Caranto.
