MANUFACTURING CODE OF CONDUCT
Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. is committed to ensuring a fair, safe, and just working environment for the workers producing our products. The Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. Code of Conduct supports this commitment by outlining expectations for suppliers. This code is based on the International Labor Organizations labor standards and the Fair Labor Association's internationally-recognized fair labor practices. Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. suppliers need to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and are encouraged to adopt greater fair labor practices into their business operations.
Transparency
The factory is committed to transparency and is taking all necessary steps to ensure that all its operations are transparent. The company provides its customers with detailed information about its products, including their origin, materials, and manufacturing processes. The factory will provide, upon request, complete and accurate records, including payroll and employee records.
Back to Top ↑Non-discrimination, Harassment and Abuse
Supplier ensures there is no discrimination in employment practices, including hiring, compensation, promotion, discipline, or termination or retirement, on the basis of gender-identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, nationality, race, ethnic origin or social group. Pregnancy testing shall not be required and pregnant women and new mothers will be provided required accommodations.

Manufacturers will treat each employee with dignity and respect and will not use corporal punishment, threats of violence or other forms of physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse. Sexual or any other kind of harassment is not acceptable. Do not use monetary fines or penalties as a form of discipline.

Manufacturers will not use any forced or involuntary labor, whether prison, bonded, indentured or otherwise, or engage in Human Trafficking. Workers maintain freedom of movement and personal identification documents. All fees and costs associated with hiring workers will be paid for by the supplier.

Manufacturers will not use child labor. The term "child" refers to a person younger than 16 or, if higher, the local minimum age for employment or the age for completing compulsory education. Manufacturers employing young persons who do not fall within the definition of "children" will also comply with any laws and regulations applicable to such persons.

Suppliers respect employees rights to collectively bargain and freely associate. If rights to freedom of association are restricted under local law, suppliers must allow workers to raise grievances without penalty or threat thereof.

Suppliers ensure workers do not work more than local and overtime laws permit. The regular workweek will not exceed 60 hours. For every six days worked, a minimum of 24 hours of rest will be provided to workers. Overtime hours will be consensual and appropriately compensated for. The Factory will pay all workers at least the legal minimum wage, or the prevailing industry wage, whichever is higher. The Factory will provide legally mandated benefits to all workers, including but not limited to, health and safety benefits, social security, and pension contributions.

Manufacturers will provide employees with a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, ensuring, at a minimum, reasonable access to potable water and sanitary facilities; fire safety; and adequate lighting and ventilation. Suppliers employ reasonable measures to prevent accident or injury of employees due to the operation of the facility. Suppliers maintain accurate and up to date records on all necessary permits or certifications and train employees on health and safety topics including: chemical management; fire safety; evacuation procedures; machine safety; waste disposal; sanitation; and vehicle inspections. Provide all necessary first aid equipment, personal protective equipment, and adequate heating, ventilation, air condition systems. Manufacturers will also ensure that the same standards of health and safety are applied in any housing that they provide for employees. Manufacturers will provide reasonable arrangements for women in connection with pregnancy, childbirth and nursing. Manufacturers will also provide reasonable safety precautions to protect pregnant women.

The Factory will comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, and will continuously improve their environmental performance through the adoption of best practices and the reduction of their environmental impact. The Factory will conserve natural resources, reduce waste, and promote recycling and reuse of materials wherever possible. The Factory will prevent pollution by minimizing the use of hazardous substances, reducing emissions and discharges, and responsibly managing their waste. The Factory will communicate openly and transparently about their environmental performance, including their progress towards achieving our environmental goals. The factory will immediately notify Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. of any environmental incidents that may occur as a result of the manufacturing process.

The factory is compliant with all necessary rules and regulations and standards of chemical management, including the use, storage, and disposal of chemicals. The company has implemented all applicable measures to ensure that its operations are environmentally friendly.

Maintain compliance with all necessary rules, regulations, and standards of chemical management, including the use, storage, and disposal of chemicals. Ensure all products supplied to Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. are either free of, are within NRSLs, or under the MADLs for; Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Formaldehyde, Phthalates (10P), and Nickel (Ni).

Utilize the Proposition 65 List to identify which, if any, of those high-risk chemicals are present in Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. products in excess of the (NRSLs) and (MADLs) and to notify Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. immediately in the event of detection.

Manufacturers will authorize Pau Hana Surf Supply, LLC. and its designated agents (including third parties) to engage in monitoring activities to confirm compliance with this Code of Conduct, including unannounced on-site inspections of manufacturing facilities and employer-provided housing; reviewing books and records relating to employment matters; and private interviews with employees. Manufacturers will maintain on-site all documentation that may be needed to demonstrate compliance with this Code of Conduct.
